The Final CTR GP

The Final CTR GP

So, the final Grand Prix for Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled (CTR) is here. And it's on planet Gasmoxia.

For those yet to check it out, the most recent Grand Prix is set on the gaseous and techno-advanced planet Gasmoxia, complete with fast food chains battling it out for supremecy. The last time we saw anything of Gasmoxia was back in Crash Bash (2000), where players fought Oxide in a game of pong after chasing him through space. Now it's looking better than ever with a track that will seriously test your driving skills - Drive-Thru Danger.

But that's not all. Oxide has called upon someone who is ready to throw down a challenge.

Emperor Velo XXVII arrives on the scene in all his galactic ruling glory.

Yes, Emperor Velo XXVII is the new final racer (sort of, but we'll get to that). The main villain in the original Crash Nitro Kart (2003), Velo was the Russian-sounding hoverbike-a-holic that raced players on Hyper Spaceway. Now he's here, complete with the frankly awesome hoverbike - the Velo Chopper (eww).

Plenty of space skins join in on the fun, too, although sadly nothing for Geary. Nothing will quite beat the new characters however, and word on the grapevine is that the classic Crash Lab Assistants are also ready to join in as racers, perhaps as a secret reward when beating the new Velo time trial times or even upcoming developer times at the end of the GP (eek).

All those unlocks since Nitro-Fueled came out. NOICE.

I think I'll leave it there and let you plough onto the Gasmoxian track for what will be the last GP from Beenox. It's been a wild ride, though, and the amount of additional content we've received from CTR has been astounding since it's launch in June 2019. I'll miss my part-time job, grinding Nitro to get more unlocks. For now, buckle up for what's perhaps the best new track and I'll see you on the track.
