A Heartfelt Recipe (Poem)

A Heartfelt Recipe

1) Shatter the shell on the side of a bowl. Do it firmly. Do it fast. Make sure the mercury trickles down the glass and watch it with your icy eyes. Watch it pump. Watch it freeze.

2) Beat the innards with a whisk. Churn it. Mangle it. Sprinkle powdered skin into the mixture. 100g. Most gesture with flours. Flour raises emotion – don't add any.

3) Place in the oven and wait for the pain to rise. Play with your new man whilst you wait. Thudump. Thudump. When the oven screams, take out the concoction.

And then you'll have my heart, my dear,
And then you'll have my heart.
